Bring Me The Horizon [Post Human:Survival Horror] Review

Post Human:Survival Horror is the 2021 EP from British rock and post-hardcore band Bring Me The Horizon.

The album starts with a song that seems to be a return to the early deathcore, which is shocking to those who became fans with the previous Amo album, which had some Emo-like songs.

Therefore, BMTH fans who liked the early days of the band should definitely give this album a listen!

Post Human:Survival Horror Overview

It's been quite a while since Bring Me The Horizon has released a second EP, although I doubt if it can be described as the second EP released in 2021.

It contains 9 songs in total, many of which are collaborations with gorgeous artists such as Babymetal and YUNGBLUD.

It's an EP, but it's as big as a full album.
I'm surprised at how dense the content is!

Let's take a closer look at the recorded songs.

Dear Diary,

The first song on this EP is a return to the roots!
Zany riffs and speed reminiscent of the deathcore days!
This song has been flying off the handle since the beginning!
Fans who got to know BMTH through the previous Amo album will be surprised, and old fans will be amazed. This is one song that will make you say, "I'm so happy to be here!

Personally, I think of BMTH as this one, so I really want to promote this song!

I want to go live!

Parasite Eve

Symphonic beginning and full of horror!
It's the second single song on this album.

The song is like a song directly from the world of a horror game, and the contrast between the exciting parts and the quiet progression is amazing.

If you like heavy music, you will love this song.

Teardrops

This is the newest single song on the EP.
The title "Teardrops" may sound like a ballad, but it's a really cool, rocking number!

It is a good blend of hardness and pop, just like you would expect from a single song.

Obey

A single song in collaboration with YUNGBLUD!
The song is pop, yet it is fast and exciting to listen to.

The music video doesn't match the song at all, but it's a nice touch!
I love BMTH's music videos, as they often betray my expectations in a good way, but I highly recommend you watch the music video for this song as well!

Itch for the Cure(When Will We Be Free?)

A short 1.5 minute SE that leads to Kingslayer? It is a song.
Personally, I like this SE, could have been a little longer!

Kingslayer

This song is a collaboration with BABYMETAL.
Su-metal sings so hard that it seems as if BABYMETAL is the main singer.

Oliver's part is unusually heavy on the death voice.

If you are a fan of Babymetal, you will surely fall in love with this song.
The impressive riff and chorus are furiously poppy, and the rest of the song is furiously intense.

1*1

A song in collaboration with Nova Twins, a female rock duo from the UK!
In the collaboration with BABYMETAL, there were quite a few BABYMETAL parts, but here the Nova Twins' parts are a bit more subdued.

Personally, I have the impression that it is a straight heavy metal number for BMTH and very easy to listen to.

Ludens

This song was written for the game.
Compared to the other songs on the album, it is less hard and more electronic.

However, it is tight in places, and there are breakdowns in the interludes, giving it an electro death metal feel.

One Day the Only Butterflies Left Will Be in Your Chest as You March Towards Your Death

This is a collaboration with Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee.

This is a gothic song in which Amy is outstanding.
It's a gothic song with Amy's great performance. It is so natural.

This song is very fresh as it was not a BMTH song.

Recommended Songs

This is an EP with no throw-away songs, and the best songs on this album depend on your personal tastes.

Personally, I like "Dear Diary," which is a taste of the early days of BMTH the best, but I think the songs that are universally accepted or generally very good are the ones I like the most. The song that I like the most is "Kingslayer".

If you are interested in any of the songs, please give them a listen!
